Types of home lights

Getty ImagesHave you ever realized how important it is to have good lighting at home? Light is fundamental in our day to day life to the extent that if we use it incorrectly we could affect our well being.the type of lighting you should use in your home depends on several factors but mainly on the use that the room will have. If it is a space to study the light should keep you awake and focused but if it is a room for rest, a warmer tone will be ideal.Warm light, white or neutral light, we explain where you should place each of them depending on the purpose of the space and the characteristics you should take into account to choose the right one.BasicsYour home should have a balanced configuration between the different types of light but ideally, it is to have a house where natural lighting is the best. You should consider not only the choice between warm or cold light, but also take into account where and when each of them will be used.cold light is ideal for spaces where you perform activities where you need to be concentrated.

These types of contacts of bare wires in bad condition that derive current to metallic parts, such as a microwave housing, are called indirect contacts because there is current where there should not be.

As the conductivity of the latter is higher (the t.t. has less resistance than that of the human body), in case of current leakage, it will go through the grounding wire in the socket that connects the metal appliance (housing) to the mains.

This leakage current will go directly to a metal spike on the floor of the building, tripping the differential (protection element that cuts the current throughout the house) and protecting us from the discharge, since the leakage current through the casing will go through the t.t. cable before the person touches the casing.

The first is the installation of each component, the second and third is already installed and as we would see it in our house without the ICP (power control switch) that will put the supplying company.

When we talk about LED lighting systems the first thing that comes to mind are bulbs, lamps, LED strips … in general the entire catalog of LED lighting with which we can populate our home. But maybe what we do not have at hand are ideas on how to apply these new formats of lights and all these resources offered by the market.

The solutions reach almost as far as our imagination can reach (we are not going to settle for lighting the back of the TV and just as LED lighting has changed the forms in the automotive industry, homes can also benefit from a moldability and modularity hitherto unknown that we will try to reflect in some examples.

A huge range of options in which only the imagination (and sometimes the pocket) sets the limit, but that should not make us forget something basic that we must always keep in mind: not all rooms or rooms of an apartment require the same lighting. We must calculate, depending on the use we are going to give, the amount of light we need and consequently, how we want to distribute it.

It’s not a matter of having a home studio, because fortunately there are many alternatives that allow us to shoot home videos with adequate and attractive lighting. In this lighting guide for home video recording we review the main alternatives with their respective strengths and weaknesses.

Light output, color temperature… are some common concepts that we use when choosing a light bulb, and now it is great to have them clear so that our lighting setup fits our needs.

In the case that we bet on a bulb that does not change color, it is interesting to know what color temperature they offer, measured in Kelvin: if it is around 3,000K will be a warm white bulb, in 4500K is pure white and 5800K is cool white. And if it changes, we are interested that it covers that temperature spectrum to have a versatile lighting.

It is also important to know the opening angle of the light: those with a closed opening angle provide a very localized light, but if the range goes from 80 to 120 degrees, the light will be more spread out.
