Soon after, while getting his first “decent guitar”, a Hofner President, he formed his first group after the skiffle boom: The Rebels, with his brother Peter and Arthur Kelly.[8] Among the artists who influenced his playing were Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Fats Domino, Bill Halley, Eddie Cochran, Lonnie Donegan and Chet Atkins.

Harrison wrote his first song, “Don’t Bother Me”, during a day of convalescence in bed, in 1963, in order to test, as he would later declare, “if he was capable of writing a song”. It appeared on the 1963 album With the Beatles and on its American version, Meet the Beatles! in 1964. Although for the group’s next album, Beatles For Sale, he had also composed a song, it was discarded, forgetting the composition until he contributed to the album Help! with the songs “I Need You” and “You Like Me Too Much”.

Harrison was the singer of all the songs composed by him during his time with The Beatles. He also sang songs by other artists, including “Chains” and “Do You Want to Know a Secret” on Please Please Me, “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Devil In Her Heart” on With the Beatles, “I’m Happy Just to Dance With You” on A Hard Day’s Night, and “Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby” on Beatles For Sale.

Nueva Revista is a cultural magazine. It has been a means of expression and reflection for all those who share a liberal and open conception of thought, culture and political action. Nueva Revista Lecturas is a categorization of our blog where you will find articles referring to that topic.A quarterly publication, founded in Madrid by Antonio Fontán (1923-2010) in 1990, it is a space dedicated to the analysis of contemporary society (of the Ibero-American world in particular) and to reflection on it in the orders of politics, culture, humanities, science and art.

“Free and plural in its information, responsible in its editorial criteria and in the opinions of its collaborators, modern and liberal in its ideology, respectful of the historical principles and values of humanism of Greco-Latin and Christian roots that distinguish Western civilization” (Editorial line).

“A Roadmap” reviews the main points affecting the malaise in culture, which the editor of the volume, Miguel Ángel Garrido Gallardo, synthesizes in the crisis of meaning, in the doubts about the very meaning of life, and in the social, scientific and technical changes that have led to the current situation.
