Jeep Wrangler 392 (V8) | POV [HD]
The Jeep Gladiator is the pick-up version of the Wrangler, as well as the first model of the brand to adopt this bodywork in almost three decades. Its clearest rival among those sold in Europe is the Ford Ranger Raptor.
The main difference with respect to the Wrangler comes, obviously, in the rear. It has a double cab configuration and a steel box of 1.53 meters, undoubtedly responsible for the car’s overall length of 5.6 meters. Its width is 1.89 meters and its height is 1.91 meters. The width of the body varies between 1.44 and 1.14 meters.
The color palette includes nine options, which are Black, Firecracker Red, Billet Silver metallic, Bright White, Granite Crystal metallic, Hydro Blue, Sting Grey, Snazzberry and Sarge Green, in combination with a black or body-colored soft or hardtop.
The interior of the Jeep Gladiator is, like its exterior, fully recognizable. The manufacturer assures that it is completely washable, which is essential for the use for which it is intended. It has capacity for five passengers.
New generation 2018 Jeep Wrangler
This efficient V6 diesel engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. But by far what is most impressive about the Gladiator is its ability to handle off-road, on-road and off-road terrain. For this purpose, it has the Selec-Trac permanently active 4WD system. It includes a two-speed transfer case (reduction gear) and heavy-duty Dana axles.
The driver can manually select, through a specific lever located next to the gearbox, four driving modes: 2H (rear-wheel drive only), 4H AUTO (permanently active four-wheel drive), 4H Part-Time (four-wheel drive for temporary use), N (neutral or neutral) and 4L (four-wheel drive with reduction gear).
The 4WD Low mode is suitable for extremely challenging and demanding terrain, as the reduction ratio multiplies the engine’s power. However, always at low speed.
A standard Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential provides additional torque and grip in slippery, low-traction situations, such as driving on sand, gravel, snow or ice. In addition to excellent approach, departure and departure angles and a limited-slip rear differential, all Gladiator trim levels (Overland and Launch Edition) offer Trail-Rated off-road capability.

The interior features black or light brown cloth seats, numerous storage compartments, a fourth-generation Uconnect system with a 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. In addition, it features a 9-speaker Alpine premium audio system that includes a rear subwoofer and a 552 W 12-channel amplifier with optional portable Bluetooth wireless speakerphone.
Its powerful 3.0 MultiJet V-6 engine develops 264 hp at 3,600 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 1,400-2,800 rpm and features Engine Stop-Start technology. It is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission and complies with Euro6D Final regulations.
Its excellent capability is due to the permanently active Select-Trac 4×4 drive system, which includes a two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 reduction ratio and rugged third-generation Dana 44 front and rear axles with a 3.73 rear axle bridge ratio.
